This is the AmigaKit Amiwest Live Show Report updated as it happens: [10:30] Ben Hermans fields questions regarding OS 4.1 for Classic Amiga to audience [Saturday] [21:00] Ben Hermans announces at banquet that AmigaKit will distribute the forthcoming AmigaOS 4.1 for Classic Amiga complete with ZorRAM support. [17:00] End Of Show. Banquet next at 19:00 [16:04] Steven Solie (AmigaOS 4 Developer) starts to talk. [13:19] Carl Sassenrath starts to talk. Announces Rebol for OS 4.1 to applause from large audience. [12:10] Trevor Dickinson thanks the crowd and ends speech. Applauded by crowd. [12:09] Ben Hermans encourages people to look at Freescale P4 P5 architectures for future of AmigaOne range. He says PowerPC is still a viable platform for the future. Potentially 8 cores running at 1.5Ghz: "mind boggling performance" [12:07] Trevor Dickinson announces that all X1000 Beta Testers will also receive an exclusive Beta Test pin badge and a free copy of the game BOH. [12:03] Ben Hermans explains X1000 cores are fully partitionable so Linux could be run on one core at the same time as OS 4.1 [12:01] Ben Hermans confirms OS4.x printer infrastructure a priority development required [12:00] Trevor Dickinson confirms Open Office For Kids being worked on [11:50] Ben Hermans answers questions from the audience [11:36] Ben Hermans, Hyperion, begins impromptu talk about future of OS 4.1 and hardware. [11:24] Trevor Dickinson announces that the X1000 cases will be available on sale separately from AmigaKit [11:21] Trevor Dickinson explains origins of the X1000 project using projector and SAM440 for presentation [11:01] Trevor Dickinson, AEON begins to talk to the Amiwest crowd [10:30] Carl Sassenrath generates a lot of interest - he has brought along a lot of rare Amiga vintage hardware [09:00] Setup for Exhibitors for the day. [Friday] [23:24] People starting to drift off to bed. [23:07] Steven Solie upgrading and demonstrating his SAM460 system running OS 4.1 to small group [22:56] Lots of continuing Amiga discussion and beer drinking :-) [22:03] Technical Clinic is ongoing. AmigaKit Technician is busy upgrading SACC member's Amiga 4000. [22:00] AmigaOS 4 Developer meeting finished. [18:37] Audio up and running on the AmigaOne X1000 thanks to some speakers kindly donated by Brian Deneen [18:36] AmigaOne X1000 has been assembled and is running AmigaOS 4.1 - thankfully no problems with transporting it to the show [18:35] Unpacked and assembled our demonstation SAM460 motherboard which will soon be on sale at AmigaKit.com webstores [16:55] We are getting ready for the opening evening of the show. The main show area has been split into two sections for the technical hardware clinic and meeting area. Food will be served shortly.
